Carson Daly and his wife Siri have joyfully welcomed their fourth child, introducing baby daughter Goldie Patricia Daly to the world on Thursday. The Today Show host, 46, and his partner, 39, shared a sweet Instagram selfie, both wearing face masks, celebrating their new arrival.
“Daly Planet Exclusive! Carson & Siri Daly (Hi! That’s us!) along with proud siblings Jackson James (11), Etta Jones (7), and London Rose (5) are beyond thrilled to announce the arrival of Goldie Patricia Daly!” Carson wrote. Goldie, nicknamed Go Go, weighed 8.2lbs and measured 20 inches at birth.
In a heartfelt message, Carson praised the hospital staff and frontline workers: “Go Go and mom are doing great. The Daly family sends a special shout out to the incredibly brave & selfless medical staff in New York and everyone fighting on the front lines during this dreadful virus. We thank God not only for the safe birth of our daughter but for their tireless work attending to so many in need.”
The birth came during the pandemic, making it both joyous and sobering. Carson added, “It’s bittersweet. We’re extremely grateful but mindful of this unprecedented time. We appreciate your well wishes and ask that you join us in praying for the many suffering around the world. God bless you all.”
Due to coronavirus restrictions, Siri gave birth without Carson by her side until the moment of delivery. On The Today Show, Carson explained: “I dropped her off at the hospital because, as you can imagine, hospitals in and around New York have new guidelines. She went alone on Wednesday night. I could only join her for the birth and then had to leave again.”
Witnessing his wife’s strength left him in awe. “Her heroism… she’s a superstar. She’s a superhero,” he said. “I wake up enamored by her and also the medical staff that we dealt with last night. The work they’re doing on the front lines — you don’t truly believe it until you’re there.”
Carson also revealed the inspiration behind the name Goldie. Looking at Irish names on St. Patrick’s Day, they settled on Goldie because she seemed like “the pot of gold at the end of our family rainbow.”
Carson and Siri are also parents to son Jackson and daughters Etta and London. Their family joy is palpable, and this newest arrival has brought both happiness and deep reflection amid trying times.
