BREAKING NEWS: Carson Daly Reveals Advice to Son Jackson as He Begins Following in His Footsteps – Exclusive Insight Into Family and Mentorship!
Carson Daly, host of The Voice, opened up exclusively to E! News about supporting his 16-year-old son Jackson as he starts to follow in his father’s career footsteps. Jackson has already made on-screen appearances, including interviews with Blake Shelton on Nightly News With Lester Holt: Kids Edition and golfer Scottie Scheffler.
“I just try to be there for him and offer him—if he needs anything, he knows he can turn to me,” Carson told E! News at the Project Healthy Minds third annual World Mental Health Day Gala. He reflected on the lessons from his own father: “The best thing my dad ever said was just by what he did—by example.”

Carson, 52, who is also dad to daughters Etta, 13, London, 11, and Goldie, 5, with wife Siri Daly, explained that he exposes Jackson to experiences while respecting his autonomy. “I wish the best for him wherever his happiness leads him. That’s what I want for him,” he added.
Daly has been a longtime advocate for mental health, instilling awareness of both physical and mental wellbeing in his children. “Their whole lives, they know two types [of health], there’s physical health and mental health,” he told People last October. He encourages his kids to communicate openly about feelings and challenges.
Treating his children like adults, Carson shares knowledge and guidance intellectually, trusting them to rise to the occasion. He also includes his kids in lessons learned from his own marriage, explaining: “Marriage is hard. This helps mom and dad out. That’s how I talk to my kids.”
Through mentorship, example, and open conversation, Carson Daly fosters both personal growth and career inspiration for Jackson, blending fatherly guidance with a foundation for independence.
