What did they do? What the [ __ ] did they do? I didn’t like I don’t like her driving anyway. I don’t like her driving. Oh my god. Oh my god.
Oh my god. What a [ __ ] Oh my god. I almost died. My dog died. My cat died. My best friend died. This is not right. This can’t be happening. Please don’t tell me this is true. Oh my god. Could you just say they committed a crime and they’re in jail? Can they be in jail? They can’t be in jail. Are you sure there’s not jail? That morning, her world shattered and so did the hearts of everyone who need him.

we did not. Okay. Do you have anything? Anything like that? In the back of the police car, her emotions flickered. At moments, she sat calm, almost eerily unbothered, staring out the window in silence. But then, without warning, the tears would come. She’d break down crying softly, then just as quickly regain her composure.
It was a ride filled with contradictions, much like the case itself. And for investigators, that behavior said a lot. In August 2023, McKenzie Sharilla stood trial facing multiple serious charges, including aggravated offenses and endangering the life of a minor since DaVon, who is only 19, wasn’t involved in any conflict leading up to the crash.
Prosecutors argued that McKenzie intentionally used the car in a dangerous and deadly manner, arguing that she used the car as a weapon, turning it into a 3,500 lb missile. McKenzie Sharilla chose not to testify, but through her lawyers, she painted a picture of heartbreak, claiming the crash was nothing more than a tragic accident, a moment of poor judgment, a case of reckless driving gone horribly wrong.
Her defense leaned on emotion, portraying her as a grieving teen who had no reason to cause harm. Those are all possibilities. We are really never going to know what happened in that car, much less prove be by evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that she purposely drove that car.
Purposely. It has to be established that at the time in question, there was present in the mind of McKenzie a specific intent to cause the death of her boyfriend Dominic Russo and her friend Dave Flanning it. It almost seemed convincing, like it might work. But then the video played. First, investigators revealed chilling evidence in the court.
In a heated argument with Dominic not long before the crash, McKenzie allegedly threatened to crash the car. That statement, once brushed off as teenage emotion, suddenly took on a darker meaning. Then came the surveillance footage showing McKenzie just days before the incident, driving the same route.

The totality of the evidence clearly demonstrates that McKenzie Sharilla acted purposely and intentionally in the early morning hours of July 31st, 2022. Her purpose was to kill Dominic Caruso with Indian. No reasonable factfinder could view the totality of this evidence in this case and come to any other conclusion.
Her actions were controlled, methodical, deliberate, intentional, and purposeful. This was not reckless driving. This was murder. Court renders the following verdicts. 02 is charged in channel 4. McKenzie Sharilla just 19 years old was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. And that’s when the reality hit Mackenzie Sharilla like a wave. She broke down, sobbing uncontrollably as the sentence was read. No longer composed, no longer confident, just a teenager coming to grips with the truth.
She wasn’t going home. After leaning so heavily on the idea that her defense would clear her, that the crash would be seen as a mistake. She now sat frozen in shock.
