Fans Rally Around Jasmine Harman After ‘Heartbreaking’ Health Update!

Jasmine Harman has revealed she is taking a much-needed break from work after undergoing surgery for a hernia, prompting an outpouring of support from concerned fans.

The much-loved A Place in the Sun presenter, 50, shared the health update with her followers after admitting she had been quieter than usual on social media. Jasmine, who has been a familiar face on the Channel 4 property show since 2004, explained that she has been forced to slow down and rest following what she described as a “small surgical procedure.”

In a candid video posted to Instagram on Monday, Jasmine told fans that her normal weekly routine had suddenly changed. Instead of starting the week with her usual Zumba class, she was at home recovering.

“Normally on a Monday morning, if I’m not working, I would be doing my Zumba class,” she said. “Today I’m not doing it.”

She then explained the reason behind her absence, revealing: “I’m recovering from surgery. I had to have a small surgical procedure — nothing serious — just a little hernia operation.”Lisa Riley on Loose WomenLisa issued an update on her thumb (Credit: ITV)

Although Jasmine reassured followers that the procedure was not serious, she admitted that even minor surgery can take a real physical toll.

“I’ve got a couple of weeks off work, and I know I’ve been a bit quiet on here; that’s the reason why,” she continued.

The TV favourite added that the experience had reminded her just how much surgery can affect the body, even when everything goes well.

Known for her warm personality and busy schedule, Jasmine admitted that resting does not come naturally to her. In the caption alongside her video, she told followers that she was under strict instructions to take things easy.

“I’m currently recovering from a small surgical procedure,” she wrote.

“Everything went really well, and it’s nothing serious, but I’m under strict instructions to rest… which for me, is easier said than done.”

She then joked that her recovery plan now involves “comfy clothes, early nights and no Zumba,” before asking fans whether they also struggle to slow down and sit still.

The update quickly sparked a wave of kind messages from followers, many of whom rushed to send Jasmine their best wishes.

One fan wrote: “Glad surgery went well. Wishing you a speedy recovery.”

Another added: “Hope the recovery goes smoothly. I had a small procedure last Tuesday too so am resting also.”

A third commented: “Thinking of you and get well soon Jasmine. Enjoy the sunshine.”

Others simply told the presenter to “put your feet up,” “take care,” and “get well soon.”

Jasmine’s honesty struck a chord with many fans, especially as she has often been open about personal and health-related topics in the past.

A hernia occurs when an internal part of the body pushes through a weakness in the muscle or surrounding tissue wall. It can appear as a swelling or lump, often around the abdomen or groin, and in some cases surgery is needed to repair it.

While Jasmine’s operation was described as small and successful, her update served as a reminder that recovery still requires patience — something the energetic presenter admitted can be difficult.

The health news comes just months after Jasmine used her platform to speak openly about the importance of cervical screening.

In February, she recalled an awkward and embarrassing moment when a male nurse appeared to recognise her during a smear test. Despite the uncomfortable experience, Jasmine stressed that women should not delay their appointments.

She shared the story with humour and honesty, explaining that while smear tests can feel awkward, they are quick, important and potentially life-saving.

“Cervical screening prevents cancer,” she reminded followers at the time. “It’s not pleasant. But at least it’s quick. And it could save your life.”

That same openness was present again in her latest health update, as Jasmine gave fans a glimpse into the reality behind her temporary break from work.

For viewers who have watched her travel across Europe helping house hunters find their dream homes, seeing Jasmine forced to pause has been a surprise. But her message remained reassuring: the operation went well, the issue was not serious, and she is now focused on recovery.

Still, the presenter made it clear that this period of rest is a rare one.

After years of filming, travelling, presenting and juggling a busy life, Jasmine now has to do something she is not used to doing — stop.

And judging by the response from fans, she will have plenty of support while she heals.

For now, there will be no Zumba, no rushing around and no packed work schedule. Instead, Jasmine is embracing early nights, comfortable clothes and a slower pace as she gives her body the time it needs to recover.
