Love was truly in the air as Al Roker’s daughter, Leila Roker, celebrated her beautiful wedding to Sylvain Gricourt in May.

The 27-year-old bride said “oui” in not one, but two romantic ceremonies — one in France, where the couple now lives, and another in the United States surrounded by family and loved ones.

But amid the joy, one tiny guest stole hearts.

During TODAY on June 1, Al revealed that his granddaughter Sky, who turns 3 this summer, had been expected to take part in the ceremony. Sadly, the little girl woke up with a fever on the big day.

“She woke up with a fever, so we had to give her some Motrin,” Al shared, explaining that Sky’s dad, Wes Laga, carried her down the aisle while Al’s daughter Courtney tossed the flower petals.

The moment was tender, imperfect, and unforgettable.

TODAY’s Craig Melvin later recalled that Sky eventually recovered enough to enjoy the celebration, saying she woke up later on the dance floor — a sweet detail that had everyone smiling.

Leila and Sylvain’s love story has been years in the making. The couple announced their engagement in March 2025 after a romantic surprise trip to Venice.

Leila shared that she moved to Paris eight years earlier, met her “person and best friend” a year later, and was then asked to spend the rest of her life with him in one of the most romantic cities in the world.

Sylvain also marked the proposal with a heartfelt message, calling it “the best thing” he had done in 33 years.

Al proudly celebrated the news at the time, writing that he and the family “could not be happier” for the young couple.

Leila first moved to France to study at the American University of Paris, where she later graduated in 2021. She has since built a life as a PR specialist, writer, and content creator, splitting her heart between New York and Paris.

Over the years, Sylvain has become part of the Roker family, joining them for holidays in the U.S., while the Rokers have also spent special moments with the couple in Paris.

In 2024, Leila even brought her French expertise to TODAY during the Paris Olympics, leading her father and Craig Melvin on a croissant crawl through the city.

Now, after years of love, travel, family memories, and two cities that shaped her heart, Leila has begun a beautiful new chapter as a wife.

And for Al Roker, the wedding was more than a celebration.

It was a proud father’s unforgettable moment — filled with love, laughter, family, and one sleepy little flower girl who made the day even sweeter.
