Christine couldn’t be happier when baby Anna was born, but one day something went wrong. Baby Anna wouldn’t stop crying. When Christine removed the diaper from Anna, she stopped crying. Christine thought this was really strange, but however she did it, every time Anna had a diaper on, she kept crying. So, there must be something wrong with them. Christine decides to call the doctor. The doctor does not seem to take Christine very seriously. Christine just gets an extraordinary feeling from the diapers. Then, she started thinking about how she even got them in the first place. She did not buy these diapers, but she couldn’t immediately recall where she got them from until her husband comes up with the answer: he had gotten them from a friend at the tennis club as a gift.
Christine knows that this friend has his own business, but she did not realize that he manufactured diapers. Christine calls this friend, but she doesn’t get the answers she wants. She had to get Anna to the hospital as fast as possible. Christine calls her doctor again, and she tries to convince him there is something wrong with the diaper that causes Anna to constantly cry. The doctor says this isn’t a health issue, but Christine doesn’t buy it. Instead, she demands to see him. Her doctor just says she should stop calling with this nonsense. Then, Christine’s husband, Mark, grabs the phone and starts an angry rant. The doctor remains very calm and just puts down the phone.
Christine can’t believe this is happening. Christine decides that they will go to the hospital anyways. Christine arrives at the hospital within minutes. To ensure the doctor took her seriously this time, she brought a bunch of diapers. She even put one diaper on Anna, who immediately started crying again. Christine thinks this is the only way to get attention immediately. When stepping into the hospital, Christine demands to see her doctor. She gets told she has no appointment and should wait at least a day. Christine feels personally attacked and starts to cause a scene. Christine even starts screaming that she wants to see the doctor.
Apparently, the doctor had heard all the commotion in the waiting room and decided to come take a look at what was happening. He was not happy about the way Christine was handled. He calms Christine down and decides to clear his schedule to help Christine out. At one of the questions, his mouth dropped open in amazement: “What kind of diapers do you use, madam?”
Christine was an organized mother, so she always carried a small pack of diapers with her just in case. She took the diapers out of her bag. The doctor had never seen this diaper brand before. To ensure he wouldn’t make any mistakes, the doctor wanted the diapers examined in the lab. The doctor indicated that the results would be ready within a day. A whole day! She had no choice but to wait until the results came in. That night, Christine couldn’t get to sleep; a lot was going through her mind. She was restless, and besides, baby Anna still hadn’t stopped crying.
After a night of poor sleep, Christine was startled by her phone. The doctor called; she had to come to the hospital urgently because it was an emergency. The doctor turned pale when he saw Christine storm in with her baby, Anna. “There is some news I would like to tell you,” he said. It was best to discuss this news quickly. “I’m sorry, Christine, but I need to take Anna for an examination. We need to know exactly what is going on and if she’s a healthy baby girl.” Tears stood in Christine’s eyes, but the doctor had to do what he could.
After a few tests, it was clear to the doctor that Anna was crying because of the unfamiliar diapers. There must be something wrong with them. He asked Christine where she had bought the diapers. Finally, Christine gathered her courage and decided to tell her story. Christine explained that they had gotten the diapers from friends at the tennis club, but that she didn’t actually trust the friends. She had always had a strange feeling about that man.
