Zoe Ball Reunites with Ex Norman Cook as Daughter Nelly Steps Into New Chapter at 16
Zoe Ball looked radiant over the weekend as she reunited with her ex-husband Norman Cook — aka Fatboy Slim — and their daughter Nelly, 16, at a friend’s wedding. The event, held at the stunning Parnham Park in Dorset, also saw Nelly stepping into the spotlight as a bridesmaid, looking every bit the elegant teen in a flowing white dress and flower crown.
The former Radio 2 presenter shared a heartfelt Instagram montage, writing: “Congratulations Eva & James & Willow. We ♥️ you so much. The most perfect wedding celebration for our dear magic friends.” Her post captured not only the joyful occasion but also the warmth of her close-knit family moments.
Just last week, Zoe opened up about the transition as Nelly moved to live full-time with Norman, describing the change as “so quiet” at home. Zoe reflected on the adjustment: “It’s great because it’s only around the corner and I can nip round at any time, which is great, and she can come here if she gets upset about anything like, ‘Mum, I need you’.” The presenter added that having her daughter nearby, yet independent, helps both mother and teen navigate life more smoothly.
Zoe, 55, has spoken candidly about the challenges of introducing new partners while balancing family life. She’s been dating BAFTA-winning production designer Mathieu Weekes, 49, for over a year and confessed on her podcast that in the past she sometimes moved too quickly in blending partners into her children’s lives. “In the past I’ve rushed that by welcoming someone in and being like, ‘here’s my kids. Here’s my life. This is me.’ And it’s all a bit much for the kids,” she admitted.
Throughout it all, Zoe has emphasized empathy and patience, sharing that it takes bravery to make tough choices: “It is so hard to leave a relationship when you know it’s the right thing to do. You feel awful for the person you’ve left. You feel terrible for breaking up a family. You feel guilty for your kids. It is a lot. And it does take such bravery.”
From her early romance with Norman in Ibiza in 1997 to raising Woody, 25, and Nelly, Zoe continues to navigate life, love, and parenthood with honesty, humor, and heart — proving that even after major life changes, family bonds and love endure.
