Music legend Phil Collins, 75, thrilled fans with a rare outing at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The King’s Trust, appearing dapper but leaning on crutches due to ongoing health struggles.

The Genesis superstar, known for hits like Two Hearts and Easy Lover, has been open about his health battles, including five knee surgeries, kidney problems, acute pancreatitis, and a vertebra injury causing crippling nerve damage. Collins now requires a 24-hour live-in nurse and wears orthopedic shoes due to “foot drop.”

Despite these challenges, Collins appeared in good spirits, posing alongside Sir Rod Stewart, Penny Lancaster, and his ex-wife Jill, mother of Lily Collins. Jill shared photos on social media, writing:

“Yesterday was a truly memorable afternoon spent at Buckingham Palace… we were very proud and honoured.”

Speaking recently on BBC Two’s Eras – In Conversation, Collins reflected on the difficulties of his later years:

“I had everything that could go wrong… it all seemed to converge at the same time. But I can still walk with assistance, and I’m optimistic about what’s ahead.”

The pop icon revealed his ongoing dream to make music again, saying:

“You’ve gotta start doing it to see if you can do it. Otherwise you don’t do it.”

With an estimated net worth of £198M, Collins remains one of the wealthiest drummers in the world, second only to Ringo Starr, and continues to inspire fans with his resilience and determination despite serious health setbacks.
