Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos delivered a gut-wrenching press conference on Monday, confirming that what began as a search and rescue mission has now turned into a full-blown criminal investigation.
“I believe she was abducted, yes,” Sheriff Nanos told reporters with a grim expression. “She didn’t walk from there. She didn’t go willingly. We saw some things at the home that were concerning… We do, in fact, have a crime scene.”
