Police Break Into House And Find Baby Crying – They’re Shocked When They Discover Why
The police were completely stunned when they found the crying baby in this supposedly abandoned house. The child had apparently been reported missing for a while, but was this really the case? Everything went smoothly at the police station until the police received a worrying call. The call the police received was from an older man. The man called to report that he had been hearing a baby cry all day around his area. He further explained that he wouldn’t have called just because he was hearing the cry, but he found where the cry was from, so he needed to inform the police. The older man explained that he managed to find out about the unusual cry of the baby and discovered that the crying had been coming from his neighboring house. To his greatest surprise, the cry was coming from a place that had been abandoned for not less than a few months. According to the man, he tried to get into the house through the door and window, but he could not open them. He decided that the best option was to call the police for assistance.
With their new method of getting in, they were able to find their way inside in no time. Since the door was old, it only took a few tries before it gave way. As soon as the door opened, they rushed into the house. The cry became twice as loud upon their entry. As a result of this, the police wasted no time heading towards it. At their first glance at the inside of the house, they realized it was as bad as the outside. The state was so bad that the police thought if they took the time to take a closer look at the house, they would notice some strange details about the place. So, they tried to focus on the cry and not be distracted by the state of the house.
On entering the house, they realized the crying was coming from upstairs. Without hesitation, the four officers made their way into the room it was coming from. They found a very young-looking baby crying his eyes out in the room. On sighting the baby, the officers heaved a sigh of relief. The officers felt compassion for the baby as he had cried for quite a long time. One of the officers picked up the baby and tried to comfort him, but it didn’t go a long way in helping the baby. Since the neighbor had been hearing him cry all day, he was most likely hungry and his diaper needed to be changed. Thankfully, the officers had considered meeting the baby in the state they found him. One of the officers who was with them was Martha; as a new mother, she could breastfeed the baby. After another officer changed the diaper, the officers were happy that they could cater to the baby’s needs within a short time.
After the baby was fed and cleaned up, they began to wonder what was going on in the house. The officers began to check so they could find out where the baby had come from and who his parents were. They were sure there was a reason that the baby was there, and most likely he had been there for a long time. Based on their assertion, two officers, Stephen and Mohammed, went door to door to ask if anybody had seen something, while Officer Bradley searched the house.
Bradley found some very interesting things in the house. What he found was so substantial that it could help them discover the truth behind the baby being found in the house. All over the house were pictures of a relatively young couple throughout the years. In the pictures, the woman showed signs of pregnancy. Bradley searched more after discovering those pictures, but it seemed there were no more pictures in the house. Since the officers got informed that nobody had been in the house for half a year, the situation baffled them. They kept wondering where the couple had gone.
The officers took the pictures and the baby and made their way back to the station. They thought they were done with the house but didn’t know they would be back at the place very soon. Bradley could not stop thinking about the baby and the little findings they had made. Officer Bradley was concerned about the baby’s case because he knew the standard procedure that would be taken on the matter as soon as they got to the police station was to hand the baby over to foster care. Even though the parents could come to claim their child, he was sure that the police would make no effort to find them. Even though Bradley knew the standard procedure, he felt like the child had parents that most likely loved him and had most probably been looking to reconnect with him. He wondered where his parents were and how they ended up leaving the baby alone in the house.
These questions heightened Bradley’s curiosity about the occurrence, and he was yearning to get an answer to the questions he had about the house. To get a more personal investigation of the situation, he began to wait until after his shift to use the police database to source useful information. In his search, he realized that there was no registered owner of the house, but the surprising thing was that the address kept popping up in many searches. The address appeared so much in the search results because, at a time, someone was interviewed about a missing person case over two years ago. The person being interviewed named the address as a potential spot of interest for the missing case. From the report, the man being interviewed told the police that he had seen the same missing couple—whose case had been around for a while—at the house a couple of times.
Upon getting information about the news that made the address of the abandoned house appear so much on search engine results, Bradley brought the pictures he had found in the house to compare with the pictures of the missing couple. Without having to check for long, he found that the people in both pictures were the same. From his findings, it was reported that the couple was poor. From the search, there was not much evidence that the couple was missing. Besides the woman’s mother who had reported the case, no one else seemed to know or care about the couple’s whereabouts. Not long after the woman’s mother made the report about the disappearance of her daughter and her husband, the mother passed away. Since there was no person to push the case and the police had many other urgent cases to attend to, the case was closed.
With all the information Bradley had gotten, there was enough reason to reopen the case. Without hesitation, he brought the matter before his supervisor, and luckily, he got the go-ahead. Since the house was the police’s only lead at the time, they decided that their first point of action was to return to the house. They knew that the missing couple should have been at the house because of the baby, so when they got to the house, they searched for things that would signify their coming to the house. They confirmed that the couple had been at the house recently. When they started looking for fingerprints, it was obvious that somebody else had been at the house other than the officers who were there the day before when the man in the neighborhood made a report to them about the crying baby. There were fingerprints everywhere in the house other than the officers’ own. Based on the turn of things, Bradley began thinking about what might have happened.
Bradley’s recent findings surprised him, and then he decided to share the information with other officers in other parts of the house searching for pieces of evidence. Just as he was about to share his findings with the other officers present in the house, something else caught their attention. They were all put on high alert by a sudden thud coming from below the house. At the frightening sound, they began to wonder if there was something down the house or if it was someone making the sound. Based on the confusion, they drew their pistols without hesitation while they looked for a way down.
It was not long before they discovered a hatch. At the side of the hatch, they wondered what was inside it. With all the other officers standing alert, Officer Bradley counted down and then tried to open up the hatch, while they screamed with a loud voice that anyone down there should not move and put their hands up. As soon as Bradley made the announcement, he started shining his flashlight around the room below the hatch. Suddenly, his light landed on two people who he recognized immediately. Without a doubt, he knew he had found the missing couple.
Since the officers had caught them, the couple had no option but to come out clean about what had been happening at the house. From how Bradley looked at them, he was sure his prediction about the situation was going to be right. Without much persuasion, the couple began to explain what had happened, and they revealed that they had never been missing. The pair explained that they had just tried to disappear when they found out they were pregnant. Being all alone, they could barely afford life, not to mention the addition of a baby. According to the couple, they realized the abandoned house had been empty for a while, so they decided to make it their home. But since the baby came into the picture, it had been rough for them. The situation saddened them, as they hated to see the baby go through the limited and difficult lifestyle with them. Due to their displeasure about their situation, they had to come up with a plan to give the baby a better life.
The plan they devised was to hide in the basement one day and leave the baby upstairs until he started crying. Hopefully, his cry would get the attention of the police. They hoped the police would pick him up and hand him to foster care. As much as they hoped their plan would work out, a part of them knew they would be discovered. The couple didn’t feel bad for being caught, as they had always anticipated the day. So, the police finding them seemed to be for their own good, as they were done with their life of hiding. They had known for a while that it was high time they faced the world again, but they couldn’t just do it on their own terms.
After the couple’s explanation, the officers felt compassion for them, and so did everyone who heard their story. In the meantime, the couple was reunited with their child, while appropriate services kept trying to get their life back on track.
