Jenna Bush Hager is officially a mom to a teenager!  On April 13, her daughter Mila celebrated her 13th birthday, and Jenna couldn’t hide her excitement—or her nostalgia—on TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle. Co-host Sheinelle Jones exclaimed, “You officially have a teenager!” and Jenna laughed, reflecting on how fast the years have flown. 

On Instagram, Jenna shared a heartwarming photo of herself hugging Mila, captioning it: “Happiest birthday to my dream girl.”  She also posted a throwback of baby Mila, writing, “How was this day—13 years ago—that made me a mama?” Fans were moved by the tender video that followed, showing Jenna and tiny Mila sharing a quiet, sweet moment together. 

A Baby Shower Nobody Will Forget

Jenna took a stroll down memory lane, recalling the unforgettable moment when Mila’s water broke—right in the middle of her baby shower!  “All of a sudden my water burst, and everyone had different reactions,” Jenna laughed. “There was one man, the caterer, who threw a paper towel roll and walked out the door!” Pregnant guests reportedly cried out of fear, but Jenna’s humor shone through: “People who were pregnant there started crying out of fear!”

Teenhood: A New Chapter

Now stepping into her teenage years, Mila is embracing independence—and Jenna is learning to let go. “If I told Mila what to wear, she would laugh at me,” Jenna joked. She reflected on the bittersweet reality: “I think we hit that milestone where she’s her own person. I remember thinking, ‘Oh, she’s going to go trick-or-treating with her friends, and I’m not going to be in her memories—and that’s good.’” 

Cherishing Every Moment

Despite Mila’s growing independence, Jenna and her husband Henry Hager are savoring every moment with their “dream girl.” “She’s going to love that I talked about it on the show,” Jenna said with a smile, knowing Mila would enjoy the public shout-out.  Fans flooded social media with birthday wishes, celebrating Mila’s big 1-3 milestone and the joy she brings to her family.
