They Turned Their Parents’ Basement Into A Real-Life Hell… | True Crime Documentary

Kick the door. I got you, Amber.  Let me see your head.  Who’s Isaac’s girlfriend?  She is.  You’re Isaac’s girlfriend.  Yes.  This is 19-year-old Kiara McCully, and this is her boyfriend, 25-year-old Isaac Apadaka. On the morning of October 30th, 2022, Isaac calls his mother in a panic. Just seconds later, she dials 911 and tells the dispatcher that someone has been murdered inside the garage of the house.

When police arrive at the scene, Isaac tells them that his girlfriend had just killed their friend with a sword. Inside the garage, officers find the body of 21-year-old Grace Jennings. Lying nearby is a long bloodcovered sword. Just a few hours earlier, Grace had posted on Instagram asking if anyone had a place where she could stay for the night after getting into an argument with her fianceé.

Isaac offered to let her sleep in the garage of the house where he lived with Kiara. Now, Grace is dead. At first, everything makes it seem like Isaac is just a shocked witness, a guy who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. But during questioning, detectives start noticing cracks in his story. Then they get access to his text messages, and suddenly the entire case changes.

The messages reveal that Kiara had hated Grace for years, that she had been talking about killing her [music] for a long time, and that Isaac knew far more than he ever told police. But there’s one text message that makes detectives stop cold because now the question is no longer who killed Grace Jennings. The real question is whether this murder had been planned from the very beginning.

Yeah, we got one down.  What?  Go back inside. Go back inside.  Is my house crazy?  There’s a deceased person in your garage. That’s why it’s a crime scene.  There’s a body in there.  Yes.  Inside the garage, police discover the brutally dismembered body of 23-year-old Grace Jennings.

Kiara is immediately arrested and taken into custody, but at that point, officers still have no idea that someone else is involved in the murder. And what they’re about to uncover is a deadly love triangle and a horrifying secret that had been buried for 5 years, ultimately leading to one of the most disturbing murders Santa Fe County had ever seen.

Her basically reenacting when she did something to herself, but making it worse.  Yes.  What do you mean here when you say that? Huggle, I am wanting you to kill her. You have to end your suffering by ending your hero.  October 29th, 2022, Santa Fe, New Mexico. After getting into an argument with her fianceé, 21-year-old Grace Jennings goes on Instagram and asks if anyone has a place where she [music] can stay for the night.

A few hours later, 25-year-old Isaac Apadaka responds and offers her [music] a spot in the garage of the house where he lives with his girlfriend, Kiara McCully. Grateful for the kindness, Grace agrees and brings her things over. She has no idea that the situation is about to turn into a nightmare. The next day, the Santa Fe Police Department receives a disturbing 911 call from Isaac’s mother, reporting a murder inside the garage.

Within minutes, officers arrive at the scene, and what [music] they find inside shocks even them. the door,  guys.  Kick the door. I got you.  Let me SEE YOUR ASS.  BACK UP.  BACK UP.  What’s going on?  Who called?  I’ll get it. from San the color was that the AP  Hey, stay off the radio right now.

Yeah, we got one down. San  inside the garage, officers make a horrifying discovery. The lifeless body of Grace Jennings. Lying nearby is a long sword, its blade covered in blood. Grace’s body is covered with multiple wounds that appear to be deep cuts and heavy strikes. What had started as a welfare check suddenly turns into a full-scale murder investigation.

Isaac Apadaka is nowhere to be found. But inside the house, officers find 19-year-old Kiara and her mother.  Who’s Isaac’s girlfriend?  She is.  You’re Isaac’s girlfriend?  Yes.  Okay. What are you, Isaac? If you have one.  Well, I’m kind of mother-in-law to be.  This is your daughter?  Yes, this is my daughter.

Step out with me real quick. What’s your name?  Kiara.  Kiara, do  you have shoes on?  Okay. This is his girlfriend for real quick.  Oh, can I get some shoes on or something?  Not right now.  Do you guys detain at this point? Okay.  I have cats. I have to They can’t  Unfortunately, Mom, but this is an active investigation. Okay.

So, nobody’s going back somehow. No, this is a crime scene at this point.  How’s my house crime scene?  There’s a deceased person in your garage.  That’s why it’s a crime scene.  There’s a body in there?  Yes.  Stand up for me.  Walk this way.  What the?  Go ahead and come here with me now.  After her arrest, Kiara is placed in the back of a police car and taken to the station for questioning.

Meanwhile, officers focus on tracking down her boyfriend, who may also be involved in the murder. Just minutes later, they find him walking nearby on the street.  You don’t have any knives, any weapons on you?  No.  No. Put the phone down.  Just put it down for now. Just put it down. You’re not in trouble, bro.

Got to make sure you don’t have any weapons. Okay. You put your hands up right here. Right here.  I get it. It’s good, bro. Here for now, bro. just because we’re it looks like your girlfriend or whoever’s in there is uh really injured. So, for now, we’re going to put you under detention. Okay. So, we can figure this out.

And I walked in the garage. She goes, “Oh, I just did it.” Oh my.  And who who was this?  Kiara McCulli.  She told you that  very calmly and everything. Blood on her hands. After that, officers escort Isaac to a patrol car and transport him to the station for further questioning. Now that both suspects are in custody, the crime scene is completely secured and locked down.

Crime scene investigators arrive and carefully document every piece of evidence before [music] the victim’s body is sent for an autopsy. Meanwhile, back at the station, detectives prepare for the first interrogation, starting with Isaac.  So, this is what I want you to try and do, okay? I want you to kind of think back to where kind of all this began before there was ever any anything regarding the incident and I want you to kind of tell me in your own memory what happened from that time all the way to getting here to this interview.

I had told I [snorts] was talking to Grace who was in the garage as well. I said uh we have to go. Um, she’s she’s telling us we need to leave. And I said that and then I proceeded to start packing my stuff and I left the main house to go use the restroom for the last time. And then I walked back into the garage.

She walks up to me, I did it. with a smile on your face and I looked at the ground and I was like uh what do I do now?  At that moment, Isaac was completely frozen in shock. Not knowing what else to do, he pulled out his phone and called the only person he could think of, his mother. The moment she realized how serious the situation was, she immediately dialed 911.

A few minutes later, dispatchers called Isaac back trying to figure out what exactly had happened inside that garage. When officers finally arrived, Isaac told them he had panicked and wasn’t even sure whether Kiara’s violent attack had actually stopped.  I was really scared because I’ve Sorry.  It’s okay.  I I’ve witnessed my friend getting shot.

So my  separately from this  Yes. It was a while back. I was asked to be his best man at his wedding and I was sitting in the back seat. Got to walked his brains out. He landed on me testify in court and I’m  super Anything like this gets me super traumatized and  it’s a traumatic event.  I can imagine.

And I saw my friend laying on the ground be this is going to be back to when I went back in the garage and I saw her in the ground on on the ground. I was like I couldn’t say anything cuz I was like this is another one of my friends gone. Even though Isaac tries to present himself as nothing more than an innocent witness [music] in all of this, the truth turns out to be very different.

As detectives will soon discover, his connection to the case [music] goes much deeper than he’s trying to make it seem. For now, investigators focus on the basic facts. Isaac explains that he first [music] met Grace through Snapchat. At the time, he was 20 years old and Grace was only 16. Despite the age difference, the two quickly grew close and started a romantic relationship.

According to Isaac, things eventually fell apart. After the breakup, he claims he didn’t hear from Grace for a long time. Later on, Isaac started dating Kiara, the woman he now lives with, and they had already been together for more than 3 years. Isaac also tells detectives that the day before the murder, he and Kiara got into a serious argument.

Last night, I had to I I had to tell her to stop being violent. She was being violent towards me prior to Grace contacting me. Also, um, she kept threatening me with a sword, threatening me with a knife. I There was a butterfly knife that’s in the room. I had to grab out of her hand and I threw it across the garage cuz she had it like right up right here.

And I told her, “Don’t be waving stuff around me like that. Please stop. She had she had been swinging the knife around like this and then she pointed at me like as if she was going to kill me and she was getting very violent. She grabbed her sword, started swinging it around.  Why was Cara being violent last night?  Um, she was bringing up old memories.

The memories Isaac is talking about are far more than just random moments from the past. They’re pieces of a complicated love triangle. Both he and Kiara had once been romantically involved with Grace. In fact, Grace was the reason Isaac and Kiara even met in the first place. Back in 2017, Grace briefly dated Isaac before later starting a relationship with Kiara.

The two girls were together for nearly a year, but their breakup was anything but peaceful. Even after years without any contact, Kiara still carried a deep hatred toward [music] Grace. Going back to the events of that night, Isaac tells detectives that things finally reached a breaking point just a few hours before the attack.

According to him, that was when Kiara snapped and told both him and Grace that they needed to leave.  How did you know that Kiara didn’t want you guys there anymore?  She um she woke up. Well, [clears throat] she woke up from what she said. She slept, but she was awake the whole time. And she turned over um told me, “You guys need to get out.

I don’t want you guys here.”  So, you go back to the garage and tell me in detail what you see.  I walk in, you know, she tells me, I didn’t mean say, she goes, “I did it.” I look at the ground and I see someone dead. I see an ear hanging and I’m like, I’ve just been on an unlucky streak of happening to me and I’m not okay right now.

From the outside, it might seem like Isaac had just lived through a nightmare, like he was simply a victim of circumstance [music] and completely innocent in all of this. Or at least that’s the image he’s trying to create. But it’s all a lie. Detectives are about to uncover the truth hidden inside the text messages on his phone.

First though, they need either a warrant or his [music] permission to search it. While they wait, investigators shift their attention to Kiara.  Any idea why you’re here today?  I believe it’s cuz somebody was found dead in my room.  Where’s your room at?  In the garage.  The [snorts] garage?  Yes.

I was trying to make sure this wasn’t real. This feels so weird. If you want coffee memories for me again, God damn it. Sorry.  Who are you talking to?  Um, my best guess is that I have did, but I’m not 100% certain.  What’s DID?  Dissociative identity disorder.  Um, I haven’t had it actually diagnosed, but that’s my best guess for my research. Mhm.

Um there are different personalities that come out.  Do you have names for them?  Some of them. Yeah.  What are the names?  Um there’s Abby and um then there’s we call her Jinx because she hates people saying her real name.  Jinx.  Yeah.  She say her real name, she mad.  Then there’s one personality that I haven’t seen in a long time.

Like I haven’t communicated with her with her and it was Jess.  Jess.  Jessica, but we always called her Jess. There’s the little version of me which actually responds to my biological name, my government name, which is very dangerous for her. and I don’t I don’t want her to get hurt.  Right from the beginning, it’s clear this is going to be a very strange interrogation.

Kiara claims she has [music] multiple personalities, making it difficult for the detective to get reliable information or even understand who he’s actually speaking to at certain moments. She says she remembers Isaac bringing Grace to the garage the night before, but insists she doesn’t know whether Grace is alive or dead.

In a disturbing contradiction, Kiara describes Grace as both the first person she ever loved and the first person she truly hated. Kiara also explains that she and Isaac had been in a rocky relationship ever since calling off their engagement back in April. But more than anything, the detective wants to hear her version of what happened during the attack itself.

Isaac came back and [sighs] started feeling frustrated cuz she wasn’t listening to me at all. So I got up and I left for a little while.  What the morning look like?  I was like I woke up well woke up as a sat up around 9 or 10. Next thing I remember is going to go take a shower.  You remember?  There’s a chunk missing.

I don’t understand.  Tell me about these other personalities. What’s Abby like? She’s very protective.  Protective.  Mostly a Kiara little Kiara.  Yes.  And Froggy, by the way, everyone calls me. Froggy.  Froggy.  Yeah.  Like F R O G Y. Froggy.  I E technically. And there’s three G’s cuz that’s also my stage name.

You spell that for me. F R O G G I.  That’s interesting. Froggy.  Yep.  Froggy, Abby, Jinx, Jess, Jessica, and a little Kiara.  Yeah. Like Aby’s very protective.  She takes control when I’m in a very dangerous situation and just says, “Okay, I’m here now. I am going to face this for you.  At first, the detective tries to understand the different personalities Kiara claims to have.

There’s Abby, the protector, the one who mainly looks after little Kiara. Then there’s Jinx, troubled, withdrawn, and cynical, the one who doesn’t like people. And finally, there’s Froggy, the personality Kiara says is usually in control. According to her, that’s who the detective is speaking with right now. As the conversation continues, Kiara admits that she had been having recurring dreams about killing Grace.

And how would you kill her in your dreams?  Dependent on the dream.  So, there’s several dreams.  Yes.  How many?  I’ve had like a bunch of murder dreams, if you could call that. Not a lot of different people.  Grace.  Yeah, Grace is like the number one. I am pissed at you. Mhm.

Have you ever talked to Isaac about kind of your feelings towards Grace and you wanting her dreaming about killing her and stuff?  I talked to him about my dreams one time. He always had this hope that she’ll be better than she was and he was the one who found the video in first place. He found me and he tried to help me.  The video she’s talking about was allegedly recorded back in 2016 when she was just 14 [music] years old.

According to Kiara, it showed several men abusing her while Grace stood nearby collecting money. Later, Santa Fe police would confirm that Kiara had reported an incident from that time period, though they never released the [music] details publicly. Kiara says that ever since then, she had been haunted by dreams where she killed Grace, almost like reliving the violence she believed had been done to her, except now imagining it happening to Grace in an even more brutal way.

Were you uh were you talking to Isaac last night? Were you guys messaging each other? And  I was trying to tell him to get her to leave.  Was Isaac trying to push you to kill Grace?  Yeah. I had my dagger in my hand.  Mhm.  And I kept going and then just stopped. Like I felt a little kid’s hand hold me back.  Like it was Kiara [music] taught me don’t don’t.

Cuz that was also her best friend’s sister growing up. Yeah,  things got so messy.  Do you think you killed Grace?  I’m not sure.  She is dead. That’s the dead person we found in the garage. Do you have any memory that just like you think it’s possible he killed her? I’m guessing myself right now, like second guessing, trying to figure out if it was one of them.

Mhm.  Someone I haven’t met yet.  Is there any way to ask them?  Very picky on when they talk.  I see.  It’s like, come on.  Automatic suspect. I know.  Well, yeah, it’s it’s not.  Yeah, it’s not ideal, but  it’s not ideal.  Lying about it.  It was really not. And it’s it’s interesting that you have that that kind of wisdom because most people come in here and  try to lie their way out of it.

Yeah. And it’s um it’s very irritating. Uh Isaac tried to do a lot of that and you know we especially when there’s messages and stuff. Has Isaac ever killed anyone?  Well, he said he did, but I don’t know if it’s true.  Who do you say he killed?  I don’t know who. that there was a number he said, but I don’t know if it’s true or if it was stupid teenagers who were always saying, “Oh, I killed this baby. Oh, I killed this one.

” Well, that’s so cool.  Grace did that a lot.  There was a number he said by a number of people he killed.  Yeah.  How many?  40.  40 people  supposedly.  Kiara claims that Isaac once confessed to her about murders he supposedly committed in Roswell during a period when he was allegedly connected to a gang.

During the interrogation, she talks about it as something Isaac personally told her, trying to paint him as someone with a dark and dangerous past. Those statements immediately catch the detective’s attention because if they’re true, they could completely change the way investigators see Isaac. But whether any of it is actually true remains unknown.

At that point, detectives have no confirmed evidence that Isaac was ever involved in crimes like that. Because of this, investigators have to treat every statement with extreme caution, especially considering how many lies, contradictions, and bizarre stories had already surfaced during the interrogations. It’s entirely possible that this was just another story Isaac made up to impress Kiara or create the image of himself as some kind of dangerous person.

Detectives had already noticed how he tended to exaggerate things and build this almost mysterious persona around gangs, the black market, and violence. But at the same time, investigators also can’t rule out another possibility that [music] the entire story may have come from Kiara herself. At this stage of the investigation, detectives still can’t fully understand her mental state or determine how much of what she says can actually be trusted.

Some of her statements sound chaotic and deeply disturbing, while others constantly shift or directly contradict things she had said earlier. It also remains unclear whether Kiara was truly experiencing dissociative episodes or if she was pretending to have multiple personalities in order to distance herself from the crime and avoid full responsibility for what happened.

And it’s exactly [music] that uncertainty that makes the case even more disturbing and confusing for everyone trying to figure out where the truth [music] ends and manipulation begins.  So again, from what you can remember, you know who killed Grace?  I’m not 100% certain. I’m only guessing. I’ve seen Isaac get violent before, but I know how angry I am at her.

Of course, he’s talked out before.  That’s where Kiara’s interrogation comes to an end. After hours of questioning, conflicting answers, and deeply disturbing statements, detectives [music] still don’t feel like they truly understand what happened. Even with a few important details emerging, the overall picture of the crime remains confusing, and many of the answers only seem to raise even more questions.

During the interrogation, Kiara says things that sound strange, chaotic, and [music] at times genuinely unsettling. But investigators are still missing something concrete, a piece of evidence, or a lead that can finally connect all the parts of this story into one clear picture. At that moment, the investigation feels almost stuck, [music] and detectives realize they need something far more reliable than just the words of the suspects.

But then everything suddenly changes. Isaac gives investigators permission to look through his text messages, and that moment becomes one of the biggest turning points in the entire case. Detectives gain access to conversations that may reveal what was really happening between him and [music] Kiara in the days leading up to the murder of Grace Jennings.

And what they find inside those messages [music] completely changes the direction of the investigation. A theory detectives had initially considered as just one possible explanation now starts turning into something far darker and far more dangerous. The messages reveal new details, contradictions, and deeply disturbing conversations that force investigators to completely rethink Isaac’s role in this horrifying case.

What would you like me to do?  Stab her? I don’t know. I don’t have the energy to do.  I don’t know, man. These these messages look a lot like there’s some conspiring going on, some planning going on.  What?  From that point where I was telling you from  even before then, it sounds like you guys are planning something.

Your fake getting thrown out and what?  I’m really confused with everything that’s going on. Like you’re telling me you have two phones now and those other messages aren’t you and it it’s what you’re telling me your statement isn’t lining up with these messages.  Those are not my messages.  Whose messages do you think they are then?  They’re from Kiara to using my Facebook from me to Kiara.

But I can’t quite explain how it looks.  Kiara to Kiara.  Yes. Why would she do that?  She’s been, like I said at the beginning, I was a part of a domestic violence case.  Yeah.  At this point, Isaac starts realizing that he’s basically been exposed. After all the messages, contradictions, and evidence the detective slowly lays out in front of him, it becomes obvious that investigators can already see far more than he ever intended to reveal.

But even then, the detective doesn’t openly pressure him. Instead, he stays calm and almost plays along with Isaac, letting him continue pushing his madeup version of events. By doing that, the investigator gives him the chance to [music] get even more tangled up in his own lies. Isaac grows more nervous with every passing minute.

His answers become fragmented and inconsistent. He stumbles over his own words, mumbles things he can’t properly explain, and starts contradicting himself more and more. What once sounded like a prepared story now begins completely falling apart right there in the interrogation room. What originally seemed like a normal interview with a guy whose girlfriend committed a horrific crime slowly turns into something much darker.

With every new answer, Isaac looks less and less like an innocent bystander or someone who simply happened to be there. Instead, detectives begin getting the impression that his role in the case may have been far deeper and far more dangerous than he’s willing [music] to admit. Once the detective starts reading the messages one by one, Isaac’s entire story completely unravels.

The investigator calmly reads portions of the conversations out loud, comparing them to what Isaac had said just minutes earlier, and almost every new message directly contradicts his version of events. It doesn’t take long before the detective starts exposing nearly every lie he told. Isaac’s excuses collapse one after another, and the atmosphere inside the interrogation room becomes heavier and more intense.

At a certain point, one thing becomes painfully clear. Isaac is no longer controlling the situation, and the truth is finally starting to come out.  Maybe I should just come home and scare her on board right now. Should I just come home and go into my room and freak her out? What’s going on there? What is she talking about?  Last night she dressed up with a garb and she had the sword and everything on her and she was walking around the park.

Okay.  In the middle of the night.  Okay. So then how is how is she going to surprise her then? How is she going to come home and scare her? What do you what?  She was in She was coming up to the house with her garb and her sword and everything like that.  Dagger because it’s blunt. What does that mean?  Um,  why are you telling her dagger because it’s blunt?  She was ask she asked me a question in the room like what what is the difference between the dagger and the sword?  Okay. And I messaged Edgar because it’s

Why is blunt better? She says you say it cuts like butter. She says just going to stab the throat. Is that what she’s trying to say?  The thought.  Just going to stab the thought. Yes. Instant. Or will it take long? What does she mean? Instant. What do we do about the mess? What do we do about the mess? What mess? Reb burn it and I’ll buy new blankets in bed.

What’s going on here, Isaac?  She I was talking to her and  what miss? She was talking about she said stab was going to stab the thought and I thought thought like um like she was poking the thought that was in her head about her dagger.  Okay. What about the mess? What mess?  Uh she had made a mess in uh in the bed.

What kind of mess? A poop kind of mess.  A poop kind of mess.  Yes,  we burn it and I’ll buy new blankets in bed.  Yeah,  but until we can. I love these sheets and my favorite fuzzy blanket is here. I know. Just intense wash tomorrow. Hydrogen peroxide and ice washer will get it out. Yes. Can you help this time? Yes.

I am just waiting for you to make the first move. What does she mean? I’m waiting for you to make the first move. Within just a few minutes, the tone of the conversation changes completely. After hours of denials, conflicting explanations, and attempts to distance himself from the crime, Isaac suddenly starts [music] talking very differently.

The atmosphere inside the interrogation room instantly becomes even heavier. The detective listens carefully to every word, realizing the conversation is now moving in a far more dangerous and disturbing direction. Isaac unexpectedly admits that he had been lying earlier and that he actually knew the murder was going to happen.

That confession completely changes the way investigators see everything he had said up to that point. The man who had spent hours [music] insisting he simply got caught in the middle of all this is now essentially admitting that he knew about Kiara’s deadly intentions before Grace Jennings was killed. His text messages encouraging Kiara about her first time now take on an even darker meaning.

What may have once sounded strange or unclear suddenly becomes far more disturbing after that confession. For detectives, those messages become one of the most chilling parts of the entire case because they suggest Isaac may have known far more about the violence than he had previously admitted. It’s also exactly what Kiara had already been telling investigators during her own interrogations.

For more than 2 years, Kiara had allegedly been planning to kill Grace. According to investigators, this wasn’t some sudden emotional outburst or a decision made overnight. The idea had slowly developed over a long period of time, turning into an obsessive and dangerous plan. And when Grace reached out to Isaac, asking for help finding a place to stay for the night, it seemed like Kiara had finally been given the opportunity to carry it out.

Isaac insists he never saw it as a chance for Kiara to put her murder plan into action. He continues claiming that he never believed she would actually go through with it. But after all the contradictions in his statements, it becomes harder and harder to tell where the truth ends and another lie begins. The detective keeps reading the messages without taking his eyes off Isaac.

And with every new line, the picture of the crime becomes even more disturbing. At this point, the investigator is completely determined to find out what really happened that night and just how deep Isaac’s true role in this horrifying case actually went.  It feels like it. Her feet are on my side.

I wish you’d make the first move for once. Remember, you’ll move up the ranks. Plus, you get perks in the black market since this is your first. Your first what?  She  Isaac, what the hell happened? Tell me what happened for real.  Can we stop making up lies about these messages? What the hell happened last night? She was messaging me on planning on how to kill her.

And  who was messaging you planning on how to kill who?  Kiara.  Kiara was messaging you on how planning how to kill  Grace.  Grace?  Yes.  And what were you doing?  I was only sending a message back only in correspondence. I just wanted to sleep.  That’s what I  Are you sure? Cuz it sounds like you’re planning something with Kiara.

Is that what’s happening? Don’t lie to me. What’s happening here? I can see the messages. I’m not dumb. This isn’t the first time I’ve done this. What is happening?  She was planning on killing Grace. I just didn’t want a part of it.  It doesn’t seem like you’re trying to top her out of it. And when it comes to the stuff as I’m as I’m talking telling you she I was only sending message back in agreeance as I turned my back towards  this isn’t agreeance remember you’ll move up in ranks plus you get perks in the black market since this is your

first this sounds like you’re encouraging her  right  the messages are here dude  I know I know right After that, I was trying to fall asleep cuz I didn’t want to be a part of anything.  We’re going to keep going through these messages. Tell me since now. Did you help Kiara do this?  No.  No. But you knew it was going to happen.

I knew it was it was going to happen.  You knew it was going to happen since since last night.  I knew it was going to happen since last night, but I just didn’t want it to happen because it’s a friend of mine.  When did this plan start? Cuz this was planned. She planned it out.  Grace planned it out.

No, not Grace. Kiara planned it out.  Kiara planned it out. When? How long had this been a plan for?  She had planned it out since 2020.  Kiara planned to kill Grace since 2020.  Yes.  And you knew about it since 2020.  According to the messages, Isaac claims that the [music] so-called black market was a dangerous organization he had supposedly been connected to in the past.

During the interrogation, he describes it as something secretive and threatening, trying to create the impression that many of the events in the case were somehow tied to this organization. Isaac says he had wanted for a long time to distance himself from that world and leave that kind of life behind, but claims he was never fully [music] able to escape its influence.

He also says that some kind of report was supposed to be submitted after Grace’s death. When the detective asks him to explain exactly what he means, Isaac begins telling an even more confusing story. According to him, the report was supposedly part of a process that would allow Kiara to leave the organization and permanently cut ties with the so-called black market.

As the conversation continues, the atmosphere inside the interrogation room becomes even stranger. Isaac talks about a mysterious organization, rules, leaving the group, and internal procedures, but his explanations sound fragmented and unconvincing. The detective listens carefully to every word, but it’s obvious he’s believing less and less of what he’s hearing.

To the detective, all of it sounds like yet another lie or an attempt to confuse the investigation. After all the contradictions in Isaac’s statements, the bizarre explanations, and the inconsistencies in his stories, investigators begin seeing these claims as another [music] desperate attempt to avoid responsibility and shift the blame onto some exaggerated or possibly imaginary threat.

Remind me of everything she’s done. This could have this could have already, if you had done the OG plan. What was the OG plan? The OG plan was something that she concocted.  Okay. What was that?  She concocted that she was going to kill Grace.  Okay.  And she wanted to do it alone.  Okay.  That was the original plan.

She hurt you and had sold you into sex trade. Had you not flown out after the crash, she would have gone away with making you disappear. Keep going. She is still lying about a lot and she’s not willing to admit that. She is the biggest piece of Keep going. She makes you feel horrible for your skin color and your beliefs.

I’m going to pretend to sleep so it looks non-conspicuous. Tell me about all that.  Even when detectives directly confront [music] him with evidence of lies and contradictions in his own statements, Isaac continues denying that he helped Kiara carry out the murder. During the interrogation, he keeps trying to distance himself from what happened and convince investigators that he was never an active participant in the crime.

Isaac admits that Kiara had asked him for help and talked about her intentions, but he insists that he personally never took part in the killing and simply got caught in the middle of all of it. But with every passing minute of the interrogation, his words sound less believable, especially once detectives begin comparing his statements to the messages found on his phone and in the conversations between him and Kiara.

His own texts tell a very different story, one that ties Isaac far more closely to the planning of the crime than he wants investigators to believe. The messages show that he didn’t just know about Kiara’s plans. According to investigators, Isaac was also encouraging her to go through with it as soon as possible. Those conversations become some of the [music] most disturbing pieces of evidence in the entire case because they create the impression that the two of them had discussed the murder in far greater detail than Isaac is willing to admit

during questioning. Isaac also tells detectives that Kiara supposedly had what he describes as a kill list. According to him, the list included himself, her mother, Grace, and two friends named Azie and Brady. That statement shocks investigators even more and adds another deeply disturbing layer to the case.

But even after revealing that, Isaac still swears that he never truly believed Kiara would actually go through with something so brutal. By the end of the interrogation, the atmosphere inside the room becomes incredibly tense. After hours of conflicting answers, excuses, and denials, Isaac looks at the detective and says he’s finally ready to tell the full truth.

And in that moment, investigators begin to feel like the case may be entering an even darker stage.  This to me reads like you’re telling her in her first kill.  It sounds like that, but I was telling her cuz she walked not walk, she leaned over [music] like this to talk to me on the bed.  Yeah.  And I told her this will be your first way out if you just leave it alone.

And if you can’t do it, we’ll have them do it. You’ll have who do it? If you’re talking about a way out, how is someone else gonna give her [music] a way out? What is holding you back? Type it. You’re edging her to do this. Come on, Isaac. Isaac, look at all these messages, man. You’re going to sit here and tell me.

You’re going to look me in the eye and you’re going to tell me that you were trying to talk her out of this. I can see right here you’re telling her to do it. What the hell happened last night, man? Why did you want her to do this?  I didn’t want her to do this.  Why are you pushing her to do this?  Tell me about all those messages, man.

Sound crazy, don’t you think?  I sound crazy. Yes.  What’s going on there?  I just didn’t want I just wanted everything to stop cuz I got caught in the middle.  You want everything to stop?  Yes.  What do you mean? I wanted everything to stop cuz I got caught in the middle of their two them two.  You wanted everything to stop.

Yes.  You know the way those messages look, right?  Yes.  How do they look?  They look bad.  How so?  Very bad.  How so?  Tell me what’s bad about them.  They look like I was a part of it. Oh yeah, big time, man. So, tell me what really happened. What What’s the point of all this? Why did this happen?  The point was that  It’s over, Isaac. It’s over. Look at me.

Look at me. It’s over, dude. It’s over. What you can do from here on out is be truthful and help us understand why this happened. Mistakes happen, dude. You need to own it. Tell me everything.  The detective has already heard this story before. During the interrogation, Isaac once again repeats the same version of events that investigators had already checked and compared against other evidence in the case multiple times.

There’s almost nothing new in what he’s saying, and with every passing minute, it becomes more obvious that he’s desperately trying to stick to the same story despite all the contradictions and inconsistencies surrounding it. After a short pause, the detective quietly stands up and leaves the room for a few minutes. A heavy silence fills the interrogation room.

Isaac sits there alone, waiting to see what happens next. The atmosphere grows even more tense because by now it’s obvious that investigators know far more than he thinks they do. And when the detective finally returns, the tone of the conversation changes instantly. He sits down across from Isaac and begins reading one of the most disturbing messages investigators found while going through the text conversations.

A message that immediately caught their attention during the investigation. The room falls silent once again. And in that moment, Isaac starts realizing just how much evidence the police already have [music] against him.  Those messages were me telling her how to plan it out. Yes. And when I in throughout the night I was getting prodded, we got told to leave.

I was told to leave. So it was Grace. And I started packing my bags. When I finished packing, I had to go pee. Came back. There was a dead person in there. Grace. Well, what seemed dead. Mhm. From there, all I decided to do was call my mom cuz my mom’s my safe spot.  Realizing that Isaac keeps repeating the same contradictory and dishonest stories, [music] the detective decides to end the interrogation.

Throughout the interview, it becomes increasingly obvious that Isaac’s version of events constantly changes [music] and that many of the details don’t match the facts and evidence investigators had already established. The tension inside the interrogation room keeps building and eventually detectives reach the conclusion that Isaac has no intention of telling the truth about what really happened that night.

Just minutes later, Isaac is placed in handcuffs and transported to jail. His arrest becomes a major turning point in the case. Only hours earlier, he had been trying to convince detectives that he had no direct involvement in the murder, but now he finds himself on the other side of the interrogation room door as an officially detained suspect in a brutal killing.

By that point, investigators had already gathered enough evidence to believe that both Kiara and Isaac were involved either in planning or directly carrying out the murder of Grace Jennings. The overall picture of what happened was finally starting to come together. The messages, witness statements, digital evidence, and other materials in the case all pointed toward the same conclusion.

This tragedy had not been random or spontaneous. Detectives came to believe that both suspects played significant roles in the events that ultimately led to Grace’s death. As a result, both Kiara and Isaac are formally charged with first-degree murder. News of the charges quickly draws public attention because the case is now becoming even more shocking and complicated than anyone first imagined.

After the charges are officially [music] filed, detectives contact Isaac’s mother, who begins describing the events leading up to her 911 call. Her statements become another important part of the investigation, helping detectives better understand what was happening during the final hours before the truth about the murder began coming to light.

And then after he called me, he said that, “Mom, I just witnessed something.” And he and he wouldn’t say anything else. And I kept asking him, “What do you see, son?” And he didn’t see nothing. He was just quiet. He was shocked. And he she said, “And mom, I witnessed a murder.” And I’m asking who and what? And I’m like freaking out.

And he said, “Killer killed Grace.”  Mhm.  And I asked how. And then he he couldn’t say. He was he was so in shock that he finally said he replied, “Kira Grace with the sword I bought her recently.”  Mhm.  And he was thought, “I’m scared of my life, Mom. I’m scared of my life.  Not long afterward, Isaac’s parents learned that their son has also officially been charged with first-degree murder.

For the family, the news is devastating. During conversations and interviews, it’s obvious how difficult it is for them to accept that Isaac is no longer being viewed as just a witness or a minor part of the case, but as one of the main suspects in a brutal killing. They refuse to believe that their son would willingly take part in planning or carrying out a murder.

In their eyes, Kiara is the one truly responsible. They describe her as someone with deeply troubling behavior and a history of violent actions. Isaac’s parents try convincing investigators that Kiara had the strongest influence over him and that she was the one who pulled him into the chain of events that ended in tragedy.

A few days after the charges are filed, they come to the police station to personally speak with the lead detective on the case. The atmosphere during the meeting remains tense. Isaac’s parents are desperate for answers and determined to share their own version of events. While detectives already have a growing amount of evidence and testimony that is beginning to paint a far darker picture of what may have actually happened.

He saw he saw Kiara do it.  Yes.  He said he w he he [music] witnessed it.  I heard that part. Thank you very much. Yeah. He was like  I said call the cops. My community didn’t call the cops. Why you call me? So my husband, that’s what my husband got gave me his phone. I’m with him on this phone  and I’m with dispatch and I’m letting her know what’s going on and he’s like, “I need to go. I need to get my bag.

” And I was like, “You cannot touch anything. That’s evidence.”  Yeah.  You leave it alone.  Well, well, and I’ve just heard bad things about her from people that I know that knew her kicking people on her  down there with the knife almost stabbed him. She’s very bright and they let her out. She’s dangerous. Yeah.

Yeah. I told my son all the time. My sister even said, “Don’t go back with her. She’s dangerous. Why are you going back with her? Why are you believing what she’s saying?”  Isaac’s parents claimed that after the engagement was called off in April. Kiara repeatedly contacted their son and begged him to come back to her.

According to them, she couldn’t accept the breakup and kept trying to reconnect with Isaac even after the relationship ended. That’s how they attempted to explain their son’s behavior and his eventual involvement in the chain of events that later turned into a horrific crime.

But during interviews, they also described something far more disturbing. According to Isaac’s parents, Kiara often referred to herself as a witch and said things they considered strange and unsettling. After her arrest, those statements started being viewed very differently. What may have once seemed like attention-seeking behavior or an attempt to shock people now made others feel genuinely uncomfortable and disturbed.

On her social media accounts, Kiara had posted a series of disturbing videos that drew major attention from both investigators and people online after the murder. Some of the clips already appeared strange and unsettling even without context. But after the tragedy, they started seeming far darker. In several of the videos, Isaac appears alongside her, which only increased public interest in their relationship and what may have been happening between them behind closed doors.

In one particular clip, Kiara silently mouths along to audio discussing the killing of people. After her arrest, that video quickly spread across social media and sparked intense discussion online. For many viewers, the clip felt disturbing and almost surreal, especially considering everything that would later come out about the crime itself.

Can we all take a moment of silence to acknowledge the fact that despite I have yet to turn into a serial killer?  And then uh recently I looked into Kiara’s Instagram  and recently within the time leading up to Grace’s death, they all were part of those weird creepy videos. Like you could hear the sound of people dying in the background, I wouldn’t say.

Yeah. And it it it’s so creepy and it happened within like three or four days before the incident happened and it’s just weird. But then you scroll more down onto Kiara’s videos and they’re just like normal videos.  These posts revealed a much darker side of Kiara, a side most people around her either never noticed or simply chose to ignore.

In her words and social media posts, detectives saw disturbing hints that began looking very different after the murder. What may once have seemed like strange behavior or an attempt to shock people was now being viewed as part of a far more disturbing [music] picture. As expected, Isaac’s parents did everything they could to present their son as an innocent young man who had supposedly just been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

They tried convincing others that Isaac had no real involvement in what happened. But the evidence gathered in the case pointed in a very different direction. Their son was not simply an accidental witness to a horrific crime. Investigators believed he played an important role in planning the murder and was directly involved in the events that led to the tragedy.

That’s where the interview comes to an end. Even after the cameras stop rolling, the atmosphere in the room remains heavy and tense. And now, with both Kiara and Isaac behind bars, detectives finally have the chance to focus on fully reconstructing [music] the crime. Step by step, they need to piece together everything that happened that night, understand the motives, rebuild the timeline, and determine the exact role each person played in this horrifying case.

One month after the murder, a judge rules that Kiara is not mentally fit to stand trial and orders a full psychiatric evaluation at a specialized medical facility. The decision only increases public interest in the case as more people begin questioning Kiara’s mental state and what may have been going through her mind at the time of the killing.

However, in February 2025, Kiara ultimately pleads guilty to seconddegree murder with aggravating circumstances as well as conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. That confession becomes one of the most [music] important moments in the entire case. After months of investigation, interrogations, and court hearings, the case finally begins moving toward its final stage.

Although the shock and disturbing details surrounding the crime continue haunting everyone who had followed the story from the very beginning,  McCauley pleaded guilty yesterday to seconddegree murder in exchange for testifying against her boyfriend. He’s accused of coercing her to kill Jennings.  Mcoli now faces 30 years in prison.

That’s twice the time a seconddegree murder charge normally carries, but the deputy district attorney says the extra time is for the quote brutality of the killing. As for Isaac Apadaka, he refuses to accept a plea deal and continues insisting on a full trial. Despite the seriousness of the charges against him and the massive public attention surrounding the case, Isaac keeps fighting for his position in court.

His case remains ongoing, and every new hearing only draws even more attention to this disturbing story. According to the most recent publicly available information, Isaac’s trial is still in progress. At this time, there has been no final jury decision or officially announced public verdict. Because of that, the case continues to stay at the center of public discussion with many people closely following every new development while waiting to see how this shocking and deeply unsettling story will finally end.
