The 35-year-old TV favourite and her fiancé Scott Dobinson took son Jude along for the gender reveal scan, holding hands as the sonographer delivered the exciting news. “We were all so excited, I couldn’t stop smiling,” Scarlett admits. “I always wanted to find out. I’m not one for waiting until the big day — I like to know where I’m at. And now we can start thinking of names!”

For Scarlett, the excitement isn’t just about finding out the gender — it’s about the bond her boys will share. “I just really wanted Jude to have a bestie friend,” she says. “Of course, having a girl would have been wonderful, but my preference was a boy, to give Jude a brother. He’s going to have someone to share his life with now.”

Starting Fresh After Heartbreak

Fans might expect the nursery to be ready after Jude, but Scarlett and Scott are starting from scratch. Last year, Scarlett experienced a “soul-destroying” miscarriage and admits she even considered stopping trying for another child.

“I was lying in bed with Scott one day and said, ‘I just don’t think I can handle the heartbreak anymore. We’ve got Jude, so let’s enjoy him,’” she recalls. She had given away their baby furniture and was preparing to pause her plans for a second child.

But just three weeks later, joy returned: Scarlett discovered she was expecting again. “It was amazing,” she says. “We’re starting fresh with the nursery, but we’re already planning to make it fair for both boys.” Their County Durham home will now provide equal space for Jude, turning three in June, and the new baby, ensuring no one feels left out.

Embracing Life With Two Boys

Scarlett admits she thrives on the energy boys bring. “I like the spontaneity of boys,” she says with a laugh. “That feeling of, is he going to jump off this slide? I’m made for that type of danger. My friends have little girls, and they’re so cute — little tea parties and all — but I love the rough and tumble boys bring.”

She also has a supportive village around her — from her parents, Betty and Mark, to Scott’s family. “Mam and Dad had two girls, so for them, having boys is brilliant. Dad’s already excited to take them to football! And Scott’s parents are amazing — I see where he gets his loveliness from,” she adds.

Scott to Take Career Break

Scarlett is equally grateful for Scott, whom she first met more than 15 years ago. A chance 999 call sparked a romance that’s lasted over a decade. “If there’s one thing I’ve got right in this world, it’s picking Scott to be the father of my children. He looks after us all,” she says.

Scott will be taking a career break for their second baby, allowing the couple to focus on family life. “It’s such a privilege that we get to be together as a family. The boys will always be with someone who loves them.”

A Journey of Strength

Scarlett’s pregnancy hasn’t been without challenges — she’s experienced morning sickness and reflects on watching herself on I’m A   : South Africa while pregnant. “Watching it back, I felt so strong and proud. It’s a lot harder than it looks,” she says.

She’s also cherishing the friendships made through the show, including Ashley Roberts and Sir Mo Farah, whose resilience has inspired her.

With another top-secret TV project in the works, Scarlett isn’t slowing down. But this time, she’ll have the full support of Scott and their families, embracing the next chapter of life with two boys in a loving, laughter-filled home.
