Young Love and Lambs: Reuben Owen and Jess Ellwood Move In Together at 22

At just 22, Reuben Owen and girlfriend Jess Ellwood have taken the ultimate leap in their romance — moving in together on Jess’ family farm in Cumbria. What started as “just a toothbrush” has blossomed into a shared life filled with early mornings, non-stop farm work, and the kind of countryside chaos fans rarely see on camera.

But the couple’s new home isn’t just for the two of them. Their hearts — and their home — now belong to a tiny, three-week-old lamb named Fluff. The little lamb, who tragically broke her leg after her mother accidentally stepped on her, has been adopted permanently by the couple.

Jess shared her delight: “We have a new pet. This is Fluff. She’s quite precious. Lambing can be tough… lots can go wrong.” She added, laughing, “She’s going to be our pet sheep now — she’ll live with us forever. She’s even been in the house, sleeping on a blanket.”

Reuben is just as smitten, joking that Fluff feels more like a child than a pet. “She’s so cute. When she sees Jess, her little face absolutely lights up. She’s starting to get to know her name now too,” he said.Reuben Owen issues relationship update as he addresses plans to start family | Leeds Live

The pair first met at a Young Farmers convention in 2024 and went public with their relationship later that year. Reuben gradually settled into farm life, admitting, “I used to come down at night to see Jess and I just wouldn’t want to leave. It started with a toothbrush, and now my pants are in the washing machine and my dinner is on the table. Now I’m all in.”

Despite their growing TV fame on Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, the couple insist their daily life is far from glamorous. Their routine is packed with 5am starts, exhausting lambing shifts, and the occasional farming mishap — like the time they collided while trying to catch a sheep, letting it escape completely.

“There isn’t much partying. More 5am starts,” Reuben admits. “But in each other, we’ve found someone who really gets the beauty of farming life.”

The new series of Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales premieres on Channel 5 on May 5, promising more behind-the-scenes romance, farm chaos, and of course, plenty of adorable Fluff moments. 🐑✨
