Baby Wouldn’t Stop Screaming, Then Dad Notices Something Frightening And Calls 911!

It’s common knowledge that babies scream and talk as much as they can; after all, at such a young age, it’s one of their sole means of communication. However, a father decided to look into it after one of his babies started screaming. He contacted 911 because what he found was so horrifying and disturbing.

After being married for a number of years, Jared and Jillian were a typical couple. They had been in love in high school and made the decision to be married one day with their ideal wedding. Their lives had officially begun. They located a house, made it their own, and were now contentedly residing there. As a result, they were ecstatic when Jillian announced she was expecting. After all, it made sense and was the next step in their ideal life together.

To learn how to raise a child, they enrolled in every parenting course available. Nursing moms were the main focus of the sessions, which emphasized the need of nursing for a child’s happiness and health. It would strengthen the child’s development and strengthen the mother-infant relationship.

The expectant parents were firmly informed in the lectures that the only reasons they should not breastfeed were if they had had breast augmentations in the past, had cancer, or had any other health issues that may have an impact on the kid. Formula would not be given until a doctor’s prescription was obtained, and breastfeeding was anticipated.

It seemed like just a moment later, Jillian was in labor. After Jared hurried her to the hospital, she was immediately brought to an operating room. Unfortunately, because of certain issues during the childbirth process, and because the physicians didn’t want to risk harming the mother or the baby, Jillian had to have an emergency cesarean surgery to remove her baby.

Fortunately, baby Landon was delivered after the cesarean section. In order to start nursing, Landon was returned to his mother as soon as possible after being admitted to the Special Care Infant Unit. During her recuperation, with no opposition, he clung to Jillian’s breasts and appeared to take to it like a duck to water. Every few hours, he would stay there for 15 to 45 minutes.

The lactation consultant seemed unconcerned and pleased with Landon’s latching. However, nobody tested to see if Jillian was producing milk in the right way. After a problem was finally recognized, experts set out to determine what was causing it. Jillian was promptly diagnosed with PCOS, or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, which is characterized by a hormone imbalance that makes it more difficult for women to produce milk. The emergency cesarean section could have been the cause of this.

Nevertheless, the experts advised Jillian to keep attempting to breastfeed, but this proved to be difficult. Even though Landon was very expert at latching, he would wail uncontrollably when he wasn’t nursing. He was devastated to hear the sad wail and was distraught until he was clinging to his mother’s breast once again. In an attempt to calm him and put him to sleep, Jillian began to breastfeed him.

However, Landon generated exactly zero wet diapers in the 24 hours that he was alive. Considering how long he had been attached to his mother, this was alarming. In actuality, Landon had been latched for 10 hours in his first 24 hours. The infant was losing weight.

Nevertheless, in spite of everything, Landon’s weight loss was worrying because a newborn baby’s first few months of life are supposed to be spent growing and gaining weight. The unfortunate infant boy lost about 10% of his body weight over the course of the following several days, making the situation worse. According to scientific research, infants who lose more than 7% of their birth weight are susceptible to illnesses including hypernatremia and severe jaundice, which can harm the brain and result in long-term developmental impairments.

All of this may sound like scientific language, but the main idea is that newborns must eat as much as they can in order to live and grow. There is no other option. However, Landon did nothing except cling to Jillian, cry, scream, and drop weight. For Jillian and Jared, as well as the baby, it was a painful and stressful period. However, it appeared like the medical staff was at a loss for what to do.

Landon and Jillian were ultimately released from the hospital. The family was sent away without any guidance, without any vitamins, and most significantly, without a prescription for formula. They continued to adhere to the belief that “breast is best.” Hopefully, once Landon settled into a rhythm, the yelling and sobbing would stop naturally. He wanted to be fed as much as possible, and the doctors advised Jillian to attempt to breastfeed as much as she was able.

They repeatedly emphasized the value of nursing and the critical nutrients that were transferred from mother to child in this manner. Jillian had been told repeatedly since she became pregnant that nursing was the sole method of infant nutrition. Everyone she had talked to appeared to agree that nursing was the best course of action.

Landon wanted to nurse as soon as Jared had driven the tiny family home. He was sobbing and yelling more than before. As a result, Jillian got him latched and let him sleep for 45 minutes. They placed him in his cradle and observed his silent breathing. They extinguished the light and walked away in silence.

However, Jared discovered something genuinely terrible and devastating when he came back to see how Landon was doing a few hours later. Jared and Jillian had decided it was time to go to bed because it was becoming late. After going upstairs, they washed their teeth, put on their pajamas, and got into bed. However, Jared crept in to see how his lovely kid, Landon, was doing before turning in for the night.

Now that he was asleep, they were enjoying the silence. It was silent. Maybe too silent. He approached the cradle in silence and peered inside. He was so horrified by what he saw that he rushed to his phone and contacted 911 immediately.

Jared was left speechless by the terrifying scene, and his heart sank to his stomach when he realized that Landon was not responding and was becoming light blue. He fell limp. The infant’s pulse was too feeble to detect, and he was not breathing. Landon was transported to the Newborn Critical Care Unit and placed on a ventilator after his parents, in a panic, hurried him back to the hospital.

After doing several tests and examinations, the doctors concluded that he was severely malnourished and dehydrated, and that a lack of oxygen had caused brain damage.

“We took him home not knowing that after less than 12 hours home with us, he would have gone into cardiac arrest caused by dehydration,” Jillian recalled of the horrifying incident. She stated, “How can we determine how much a baby is truly consuming while they are just on the breast? I take it that there should be weight checks and wet and dirty diapers.”

Although Landon was skilled at latching on to the breast, he wasn’t consuming any milk at all, much less nearly enough. He was having trouble drinking his milk, and Jillian was having trouble making it, too. It was only a sad and regrettable confluence of terrible incidents. He had lost weight, become frail, and become quite sick as a result.

Doctors tried their hardest to stabilize Landon and nurture him back to health after placing him on life support. Regrettably, it appeared that Landon had gone too far and would never be able to recover. Medical professionals advised that the youngster be removed from life support and given the opportunity to pass away quietly.

After 15 days had passed with no progress, they managed to ease his discomfort, but the harm could not be undone. Due to his youth and weakness, Landon’s body was unable to handle the shock. Naturally distraught, Jillian and Jared had no choice except to remove him from life support. They had to say goodbye since they were unable to extend his life.

Fortunately, the couple’s other children, born a few years later, did not experience the same hardships as Landon. The kids grew up robust and healthy despite being fed a combination of formula and breast milk. Even though he was not physically there, Landon was always remembered as a part of their family. Jared and Jillian would always remember their lovely firstborn child.

So, it’s your turn now. How do you feel about this heartbreaking and terrible tale? If you had experienced the same loss of a child as Jared and Jillian, how would you have responded? Would you have considered it a terrible accident, or would you have placed the responsibility on the hospital?
