BREAKING NEWS: Kelly Ripa Shares Hilarious Parenting Memory: Leaving Mark Consuelos Alone With Their Kids Was a Disaster Waiting to Happen!

Kelly Ripa is opening up about some unforgettable early moments of parenthood with husband Mark Consuelos — and the story is equal parts funny and terrifying.
In a behind-the-scenes clip from a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the 55-year-old TV host recounted what happened when she first left Consuelos alone with their children while filming in Chicago. At the time, their youngest son Joaquin was just six months old.
“I hired babysitters to work in 8-hour shifts, like nurses,” Ripa explained. “When I came home two days later, the last babysitter told me, ‘You can’t die, because he doesn’t know where anything is.’”
Ripa laughed as she recalled the warning. “My god, I can’t die!” she added, shaking her head. It was a humorous reminder of just how unprepared any new parent can feel — even when it’s your spouse.

Ripa and Consuelos, married since May 1996 after meeting on All My Children, have three grown children together: Michael, 28, Lola, 24, and Joaquin, 23. The family has shared many milestones over the years, including recent celebrations of Consuelos’ 55th birthday.

In March, Ripa and daughter Lola paid heartfelt tributes on Instagram. Lola called her dad her “superhero” in a touching caption alongside a carousel of photos and videos. “Happy birthday to my superhero. You will forever and always be the most important man in my life,” she wrote.

Ripa added her own loving touch, teasing Consuelos’ love for “cake and party hats” with a 10-photo carousel of birthday moments. “Happy birthday @instasuelos, a man who loves cake and party hats more than most people, and I love you ♥️♥️
