Andrea McLean, the 56-year-old former Loose Women presenter, has revealed the struggles she faced after leaving the ITV daytime show in 2020. “I lost my home, my pension, all my savings… there was so little in my bank account, it was minus,” Andrea recalled. “I was selling furniture to pay for groceries. There were bailiffs at the door. I was applying for jobs in coffee shops, clothes shops, and office work.”

Through the turmoil, Andrea’s third husband, Nick Feeney, has been her rock. Married in 2017, Nick supported her through every challenge, from financial hardship to terrifying health scares. Andrea described their quiet evenings together:

“We sit in silence at night and send each other funny memes on our phone. That is literally our love language.”

In 2024, Andrea faced a life-threatening ordeal when she suffered severe sepsis and pneumonia, compounded by acute kidney injury. She was found on the floor by Nick, rushed to hospital, and told she could have died if treatment had been delayed by just 24 hours.

“It was only a few weeks after I got home that I realised the magnitude of what had happened — if I hadn’t gone into hospital that day, I may not be here now,” Andrea said.

The presenter praised Nick’s dedication, describing how he “stopped his life” to drive her to appointments, wait for hours at clinics, cook meals, and care for the family. Despite the challenges, Andrea insists the struggles strengthened their marriage and made her appreciate the support and love around her.Andrea McLean reveals how 'lost and vulnerable' she was before marriage counselling with husband Nick and says they'll be 'together forever' - OK!
