During a discussion about women in their forties and their views on dating, Maria Shriver shared surprising statistics. “Women in their forties, today many of them are perfectly happy being single,” she said, referencing a survey where nearly two-thirds of women aren’t interested in dating or having a partner.

This prompted Sheinelle Jones to ask, “Wow, you’ve been part of that club for just a couple of years—do you have any wise wisdom?” Craig Melvin added, “You’ve got a couple years.”

As the conversation shifted, the Today team virtually checked in with Dylan, who was reporting from the Kentucky Derby. Sheinelle chimed in, “You’re in the club too,” to which Craig jokingly responded, “I wasn’t going to say that!” Sheinelle continued, “She’s a card-carrying member.”

Dylan Dreyer and Brian Fichera, her ex-husband, share three sons together: Calvin, Oliver, and Rusty. The couple tied the knot in 2012 and relocated to New York City. After 12 years of marriage, Dylan filed for divorce in March 2026.

In an Instagram statement, Dylan revealed their decision to separate and stressed that they would remain friends, continuing to co-parent their children. “We began as friends, and we will remain the closest of friends,” she wrote, sharing the news with a sunset photo. “Most importantly, we will continue to co-parent our three wonderful boys together with nothing but love and respect for one another,” she added.

When asked about her future in dating, Dylan told HELLO! during a competition: “I would say I’m open to it. I don’t know how to do it… it’s been a long time, and my focus is on the kids and  family. So, if something were to happen organically and it’s easy… but I’m not searching for it. If something happens, I’m open to it.”
